Brisbane Aboriginal Art Tour
- Kesto: 3 Tunnit (noin)
- Paikka: South brisbane, Qld
- Tuotekoodi: P9MJ3R
On this 3-hour walking tour around Brisbane’s major inner precincts, you’ll get acquainted with a range of Aboriginal art forms and mediums from various regions across Queensland and Australia.
We’ll stop along the Brisbane River and visit galleries and other venues in Brisbane’s Cultural Precinct to see significant works of Aboriginal art and discuss their history. Starting the tour off with the sounds of the didgeridoo and venturing into more tactile forms, we’ll explore the scope of Aboriginal art that exists in Australia's New World City.
Australian Aboriginal painting is the longest standing tradition of art in the world. Aboriginal people are the largest producers of art in Australia per capita, and over 99% of the timeline of Australian art is comprised of Aboriginal painting. Though only 3% of Australians are Indigenous, over 50% of Australia’s artists are Aboriginal. This statistic, though impressive, can hardly illustrate the diversity present in Aboriginal art, across forms, technique and imagery. Aboriginal art is influenced by and often represents the energy patterns and invisible laws of nature. In Aboriginal culture, it is said that art is a method through which to understand nature and its Dreaming. Join Iwara Travel on this tour to connect with the long history of Aboriginal culture through art and gain a better understanding of Aboriginal Dreamtime (Tooltips).
